Swim Lessons
Instructor: Alexander Miranda
3 Weeks / 2 days a week = 6 classes per session
$65 per child
Class size MAX = 4
Tuesday and Thursday classes: Beginner level. 11:30am – 12:00pm
These classes will be for children of the ages between 3 and 7 years of age who need to learn how to feel comfortable in the water. They will be learning very basic water safety as well as basic swimming skills such as treading water, floating on backs, going under water, the doggy paddle, and the beginning techniques for gliding through the water. Much of this class will focus on building strength and confidence and by the end of these lessons it would be ideal to see the swimmers be confident in their ability to keep themselves above the water’s surface.
Mondays and Wednesdays: Intermediate level. 3:15pm – 4:00pm
These classes will be available for children of the ages between ages 5 to 10. For these lessons swimmers should be able to float in the water, put their heads under, and know the doggy paddle or some form of technique for forward motion. They should already have some level of comfort with being in the water. This class will focus on how the body moves in the water. The swimmers will start by refining their current abilities and then move towards learning how to move themselves through the water in different ways. This will include techniques such as freestyle swimming, backstroke, froggy swim, and swimming under the water. By the end of this class swimmers will be confident in their ability to jump in and swim around in many different ways.
